Shipping Policy

At Occasionally Gifted we pride ourselves on our superior customer service. We strive to ship all orders within 24 to 48 hours of receipt of payment, unless otherwise requested. We do request however that you allow two to four business days for production during the peak holiday seasons of Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Please place any large orders early enough to allow for production and shipping to take place within this time frame. FedEx Ground delivers MONDAY to FRIDAY only (business days). Saturday or Sunday delivery is not an option with FedEx Ground. Saturday arrival is an option but a rate quote must be obtained from FedEx for this premium service. Requests for delivery on a Saturday or Sunday will be processed for arrival on the preceding Friday. Also, FedEx does not accept requests for deliveries at specific times of the day. Drivers map out their deliveries to ensure an efficient route is taken. Packages are delivered throughout the day and no specific time can be accommodated.

Shipping Costs

Shipping charges are calculated by obtaining a real-time rate quote from FedEx. The dimensions and weight of the package will vary depending on the size of the gift.

Shipping costs can be as low as $9.00 to a business address in Toronto.

FedEx charges extra for rural destinations and residential addresses. You will see your shipping charge after you enter your recipient's address during checkout. You must provide the recipient's address in order to obtain your rate quote. You are not obligated to complete your transaction after receiving a rate quote.

We recommend that all orders be sent to a business address when possible. In addition, all orders REQUIRE the recipient's telephone number to allow for address verification.

All shipments will be made via FedEx Ground service unless the customer phones us to request FedEx Express Overnight Courier Service. Please note that FedEx does not deliver to postal boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

FedEx does not deliver to P.O. Boxes and R.R. #'s. If you require a gift to this type of location, you must phone us before placing your order and we will obtain a rate quote from Canada Post.

Delivery times listed for FedEx Ground service are estimates only and do not reflect remote areas. Shipping times refer to business days in transit. The day the package ships does not count towards the number of days estimated. For example, a gift shipped on Tuesday and estimated as 2 business days in transit will arrive on Thursday. Tuesday, the day of pick up, does not count so 2 business days is Wednesday/Thursday. *Please note that FedEx Ground estimated transit times are NOT guaranteed. Additional time may be required due to delivery volume or weather conditions.

Guaranteed Overnight Courier service is available as well. Please contact us for courier rates PRIOR to placing your order.

We strongly recommend that all orders be sent to a Business Address when possible to make sure that the courier is able to obtain a signature upon delivery for each parcel. Residential deliveries may be left without a signature at the courier's discretion if no one is home to sign for the package.

Unfortunately FedEx does not guarantee specific delivery times. Residential transit times/delivery date projections are Estimates Only and are NOT guaranteed. Commercial deliveries are guaranteed to be delivered by midnight on the scheduled delivery day. FedEx offers a money-back guarantee for commercial deliveries that are not delivered by midnight on the scheduled delivery day only.

Please note that the transit times posted on the Occasionally Gifted website are estimates only and are provided for your convenience. Please phone us at 905-257-2433 or 866-431-4438 for the most up to date Transit Time estimates from FedEx (please be sure to have the recipient's postal code ready when you call). FedEx's money-back guarantee for commercial deliveries is based upon actual FedEx transit projections only!

Please visit the FedEx website (www.fedex.ca) for more information regarding their terms and conditions.

Transit Times in Canada

Please note that we have implemented real-time transit estimates with FedEx. When you enter your recipient's address at the bottom of any product page, the cart will retrieve real-time shipping costs as well as estimated transit times. The shipping estimator will present something similar to this:

FedEx Ground - $8.98
Estimated Delivery Time: 1 Business Day(s)
FedEx Overnight (Next Business Day) - $38.98

Your recipient's address will determine shipping cost and estimated transit time. Ground is not a guaranteed service so transit times will always be considered 'estimates' although we know FedEx estimates are 99% accurate (since 2001).

Delivery times provided refer to business days in transit for non-remote areas only. *Ground Service shipping times are estimated and NOT guaranteed.* Time sensitive deliveries should be shipped by Priority Overnight service.

FedEx Ground and Overnight shipping are available Monday to Friday only! If you require Saturday delivery you must phone us for a rate quote PRIOR to placing your order.

Returned/Cancelled Shipments

If a parcel is returned to Occasionally Gifted due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser or the recipient having moved we will contact you immediately. The parcel may then be re-shipped at an additional freight cost or cancelled. *All shipping and handling fees are non-refundable however.* A credit or refund will be issued to the purchaser, minus a 20% re-stocking fee, for orders canceled or returned to us due to an incorrect address provided by the purchaser.

A cancelled order due to the sender changing their mind or dissatisfied with transit times will also incur a 20% re-stocking fee as well as all actual shipping costs (as quoted by FedEx).

Please check your addresses carefully, paying special attention to street numbers and postal codes. Also, please make sure to provide the recipient's phone number so that we may confirm the address if necessary.
